About two weeks after this it was announced that Harri Mänty had left the band. In mid 2007 the band announced the release date and that the album title would be "Tillbaka Till Samtiden" which means "back to the contemporary", a play on "back to the future". Before release, Tillbaka Till Samtiden was reported to be techno-ish in style, similar to Depeche Mode. Although Tillbaka Till Samtiden was officially released on 17 October 2007, many Swedish stores began selling it five days earlier after it was leaked on the internet. Tillbaka Till Samtiden was met with mixed but mostly positive reviews and sold very well. The supporting tour was also very popular with Kent adding extra dates after tickets rapidly sold out for many venues. Amongst the many awards Tillbaka Till Samtiden received, it also won Kent the album of the year and group of the year at the Swedish Grammies. Joakim Berg has stated that Tillbaka Till Samtiden contains some of his favourite material. Goran Kajfes plays the trumpet on Elefanter and Våga Vara Rädd.
